We get a blank sheet of paper and sit down with industrial engineers, operators, developers, we try anything and the best idea wins. We’re reducing harmful pollutants, improving energy efficiency and conserving natural resources. Leaders from all departments constantly checked in with our family, offering help and support through a difficult time. It’s really awesome because so many people tell me that they wouldn’t have purchased or tried a new product if they hadn’t sampled it in store first. Before working at H-E-B, I had reached a plateau in my career. You know when you’re at an H-E-B store and when something is an H-E-B product. We are constantly researching trends and attending design and technology conferences to see what new resources are out there that can help us stay efficient and keep up with the speed of delivery and accuracy of information that is needed to build a store. A special part about working at H-E-B is that I get to work with my brother. You don’t know what you will be dealing with or what situations will arise and it’s never dull. I also did a walk through with my supervisors to show them ways where we could move products around on the aisles for more efficiency and less potential for damage. When people hear that I drive trucks for H-E-B, they assume my job is easy because they think all I do is drive. They offer great benefits and the culture is very family oriented—which is important when you have 5 kids! But at the end of the day, when you see the work you’ve done come to life on the shelf, it makes it all worth it. If we put an H-E-B logo on a product, it must be as good as, or better than the national product. As a sensory and consumer research analyst, I get to be part of consumer testing in order to make sure that happens. Then I check my e-mail, walk my department, see if I have any returns, bring all of the top selling items out, and check the front coolers. For example, I recently took the initiative to help clean out the aisles of the warehouse. I think that attitude is a direct result of the generosity and love that H-E-B shows its Partners and the communities. We have things like Partner Appreciation Month and our Leaders always ask us how we are doing and if there is anything they can do to help—and I know they mean it. I look for opportunities where we can partner with drug manufacturers to support our customers through educational programs, cost saving programs and more. H-E-B is a caring company. From new babies, to birthdays, to retirements, to engagements, when I help them I feel like I’m small part of the customers special event. Made with pride and care for H-E-B. I’ve also fallen in love with San Antonio. It’s my job to stay engaged with them and see what they need in order to do their jobs. The culture is what I like best about the city—and H-E-B is a big part of that. Equally important, I’m thankful to the H-E-B leaders who opened doors for me and feel blessed that I had the conviction to walk thru them. I’ve been involved in the grand openings of two of our stores, and had the opportunity to oversee a grand opening of my own, which was very cool! Throughout my education, I stayed on with H-E-B. San Antonio is a great city. As a Customer Service Lead in Beauty, I make sure that the department looks nice and welcoming to customers. The following are common elements of a brand promise. We are a part of people’s everyday lives and we are also part of a culture that makes people feel good and proud to be a Texan. We are a one-stop shop with an enthusiastic atmosphere. H-E-B is that company. They are the MVPs at what they do and they put the soul back into the equation. Prior to coming H-E-B, I had zero food manufacturing experience. Leading this effort gave me the opportunity to growing in my understanding of how to drive sales and it gave me a leadership opportunity on my team. I interned for the Stores twice, including once after graduation. My wife is originally from San Antonio and my father-in-law spoke so highly of H-E-B, so I decided to submit my resume. As the Business Development Manager (BDM) of Ice Cream, Novelties and Frozen Desserts my job is unique in that I get to manage and set the strategies for the next five years on my products. Two weeks later, I moved to the Frozen Foods warehouse. But it wasn’t until my husband began working for H-E-B in the Transportation department eight years ago that I got to see first hand the generosity and love this company has for the community and the Partners. Copyright © 2020 H-E-B. I was right – but I had no idea just how fun it really would be! I plan to go through the leadership development programs here at H-E-B. It’s so calm and I’ve taken great pictures. Developer – and encouraged me to apply. Now, we have three beautiful girls. They are the MVPs at what they do and they put the soul back into the equation. In my department, that goal is to get people the data they need to put together applications. We are constantly doing research and updating testing methods in order to get customer results back in the most efficient and quickest way without sacrificing quality. The Partners are always greeting people and telling you to have a nice day and I’ve known that I wanted to be a part of that friendly culture since I was 16. H-E-B is also where I met my husband! I love explaining the plant to them, and telling them how to care for and water it. It’s an easy-going, colorful plant that can handle the Texas sun. My personal favorite is the vinca. When I first started in my department, I was repairing different building components like doors, ramps, plumbing and more in the retail support center. I stack the product on pallets, wrap the pallets, and set them in front of their designated door to be loaded on to the trucks. In addition to this, we are also responsible for recognition initiatives at our corporate office. Fresh out of graduate school at Texas A&M, I turned down a job offer from H-E-B in order to travel to South America and work on a ranch in Paraguay. It’s amazing! We make it a priority to get involved and make a difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors. The Museum of Art, The Tobin Center, the symphony, and the opera all provide wonderful experiences. Eventually, I got a job at a Law Firm in San Antonio and H-E-B was one of my clients. Undeterred, the Recruiter tracked me down and sent a typewritten letter addressed to the capital of Paraguay offering me a job upon my return to the states. I have to do a lot of problem solving, which makes it interesting and exciting for me. I’ve received the Partner of the Month award twice, and it was so cool to be recognized for doing a good job. It was such a great experience that I knew I wanted to work here after graduation. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with tons of people in the community through my work as H-E-Buddy. My consulting job after college provided experience in multiple industries all over the world. I remember telling the recruiters I was going to work for the company someday, I just needed to find my niche. I love my job here at H-E-B because I’m around people that care for others! Here, we think like the customer, not about the customer. Everyone here really cares about their jobs. I also get a lot of product samples! My favorite memories working at H-E-B are of giving back to the community through the Tournament of Champions and helping at the food bank and habitat for humanity. But the most fun part of my morning is helping the customers. My dad spent his entire career working at H-E-B, so you could say it’s in my blood. It’s specifically for programmers and developers and includes a lot of special training and certifications. You have the opportunity to really hone in on what you’re passionate about, but still stay with the company that takes care of the community and connects with our Partners on a deep level. Interacting with everyone is definitely the best part of my job. My typical day is filled with Partner traffic and doing administrative work. You get to see the legal work you do play out for the customer in the stores or company expansion. In our company, you don’t have to leave the company to have multiple careers. We go to the movies together a lot and we love tacos!
